Let's think about this for a second here.
In 2005 and 2006, while Steve Buratto was the offensive coordinator, Henry Burris threw for 8743 yards, 46 touchdowns and 30 interceptions, with a completion percentage of 58.6%. A Quarterback Rating of 91.3. Not great, but not too bad.
In 2007, George Cortez came in, a guy famed for developing Jeff Garcia into the QB he was, among others. And in the next two seasons, 2007 and 2008, Burris threw for 9372 yards, 73 touchdowns and 28 interceptions, with a completion percentage of 62.7%. And a QB Rating of 103.0.
Burris also won a Grey Cup Championship in 2008.
In 2009 was a big downer year though, as he was under 60% completion and threw just 22 TD's and 16 INT's.... 88.0 QB Rating.
Cortez leaves now after three seasons, and it leaves a big gap in the Stamps offense. Cortez was the man for them, who helped Burris improve significantly over the three seasons. So, does this mean Burris revolts back to the form of when Buratto was around? We pretty much already seen that last season.
Is Drew Tate ready? Are the Stamps going to hit the fan?
Something to ponder over the next five months as we await Canada Day and the CFL Kick-Off.
